Puppy Page If you are interested in owning a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog please do your research. Learn about these dogs and their personalities. Talk to many breeders and ask lots of questions. Learn about the health risks. While they can be wonderful family pets they are not for every family. They are slow to mature and slow to house break. It takes many hours of continueous hard work to train these large dogs to be good family dogs. They will need constant socialization and training from puppyhood throughout their lives. To own a GSMD is a lifetime commitment and should not be taken lightly. It takes a commitment from the whole family and the entire household (including children) should be aware of this decision and be willing to learn to train and to be trained on the proper way to raise and treat a puppy. At Summit Farm all puppies will be hand reared with our family in the comfort of our home. We will love each puppy and socialize them and match them to their new owners and home. Pet and/or companion puppies will be sold with a limited registration. Limited registration will require that you spay or neuter your puppy. |
